Is Trace Health Free? Yes, to Track Your Symptoms (October 2026)

Short answer: for most people, yes. Trace Health is a free app to track your symptoms, with no subscription and no account, and Premium is there for people who need more. We build Trace Health, so every fact about another app is dated and taken from its own website or App Store listing. Prices checked October 2026.

Is Trace Health free?

Yes, for most people: Trace Health is a free app to track your symptoms, with no subscription and no account. You download it from the App Store, choose your conditions and start logging. The free version is not a trial: it has no time limit, asks for no card and shows no ads.

What people say

Rated 4.8 out of 5 from 62+ ratings on the App Store.

  • Exactly what I was looking for, “Out of all the symptom tracker apps, I found this to be the easiest and most straightforward. It “writes” to the health app, which is exactly what I wanted. All the others only “read” parts of the health app data, and didn’t truly write any data back. This helps me visualize my chronic symptoms soooo well.” (EB1700, United States, App Store)
  • The app I was looking for, “I highly recommend this app, no annoying ads etc, straight to the point of keeping a track of health symptoms, the best health monitor app I have ever used.” (Trisroy-Best, United Kingdom, App Store)
  • Very useful and private, “The app is simple, fun, and life-changing for me. I chose it mainly so that my data is never shared, and because it’s the easiest to use. I used to write my symptoms down in a notebook; now I do it every day on the app to track how they change. Being able to also log my everyday activities to see their influence is very handy. I recommend it!” (Solex94, France, App Store)
  • This is a game changer, “Ok so I try so hard to track symptoms but apple health doesn’t have a widget for that and it’s kind of a pain to track down every little thing… Now this app!!!! Everything is right there, there’s widgets, it’s fast and simple and syncs! I freaking love this app! I’m still playing with it so I haven’t seen if it has a “how are you feeling right now” feature but it is everything I have ever wanted the symptoms on health to be!” (grofica82, United States, App Store)

Free symptom trackers compared (prices checked October 2026)

Almost every symptom tracker is free to download. What matters is what stays free once you use it every day. Here is what each app's free version covers, in its own words, from its website, help center or US App Store listing, checked on 10 October 2026.

Free versions and prices from each app's own website, help center or US App Store listing, checked 10 October 2026. Prices change and many apps show discounts in the app: check before deciding. CareClinic and Daylio do not publish their prices, and the App Store does not say which of their in-app prices is yearly. Guava sells Premium on its website, not in the App Store.

Of the full symptom trackers here, Trace Health keeps the most in its free version: every symptom and condition, trigger discovery, mood, cycle and a doctor report, with no account. Bearable's free version is generous for logging, but the correlations that show what affects your symptoms are part of Premium. Juno and Rox keep their AI chat for paying users. Apple Health costs nothing and is already on your iPhone, but you log each symptom by hand and it does not look for triggers.

Free, with no account

Trace Health never asks who you are. There is no sign-up, no email and no password, so there is nothing to cancel and nothing to leak. Your health data stays on your iPhone by default, with optional private iCloud sync, and the App Store privacy label reads "Data Not Linked to You". No ads, and your data is never sold.

That is not the norm. Bearable, CareClinic, Guava and Visible require an account, and Juno's privacy policy describes one. Daylio, SympLog and Chronic Insights work without one, like Trace Health. For the details, see what "private" means in Trace Health.

Free in your language

Tracking your symptoms in Trace Health is free in all nine of its languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Portuguese and Romanian. Every screen, symptom and doctor report is translated, not just the App Store page.

Many popular trackers are English only: Bearable, Guava, mySymptoms, Rox, SympLog and Visible, checked against each app's App Store build in October 2026. Juno is in English, French and German. CareClinic and Daylio cover all nine languages, and so does Apple Health.

When another free option is the better fit

  • Apple Health, if you only log a few symptoms now and then and don't want another app. Trace Health writes to it, so you can start there and add Trace later without losing anything.
  • Daylio, if what you want is a mood journal first, with symptoms as a side note.
  • SympLog, if you want a flexible offline journal that never charges: it has no paid tier and needs no account, in English, with no Apple Watch app.
  • Chronic Insights, if you live with chronic pain or an autoimmune condition: its free version tracks unlimited symptoms, medications and vitals, and its Premium ($30.99 a year) adds a 3D pain map.
  • Bearable, if you like detailed daily check-ins and are fine with an account; plan on Premium to see correlations.
